EPM Live Acquires EPK Group Product Line To Enhance WorkEngine's Portfolio, Cost, and Resource Management in SharePoint

EPM Live, a global leader in Enterprise SharePoint Project and Work Management Solutions, announced today their acquisition of EPK Group’s EPK-Suite product line. The result of this acquisition and upcoming development efforts will produce an integrated system that truly revolutionizes the way organizations manage work using Microsoft SharePoint.

"WorkEngine and the EPK Group founders share a joint vision to evolve the traditional, powerful capabilities of EPK Suite Portfolio Management, Resource Management and Cost Management and extend the same value-driven concepts to all work areas of the business using Microsoft SharePoint,” said Joe Larscheid, CEO of EPM Live.  Earlier this year when they announced WorkEngine 2010, Joe stated, "This launch will not only confirm our commitment to an aggressive product roadmap, but will fill the gaps in the technology market allowing us to meet market demand and further enhance our market position."  “The acquisition of the EPK products reinforces our commitment to take the necessary steps to add maximum value to the systems our customers require.  As an organization's work takes the shape in all different sizes and complexity, WorkEngine will now be able to help meet the Portfolio Work Management and Resource Management objectives of most organizations, to increase growth and profitability for an overall competitive advantage,” Joe added today.

Gartner's Analyst Daniel B. Stang wrote in the June 7, 2010 release of Gartner's Magic Quadrant for IT Project and Portfolio Management, "Potential buyers of IT PPM systems face many challenges. They need PPM systems, but PPM as a technology alone cannot help an IT department. Investment in PPM requires careful attention to people, processes and technology, and not always in that order. As a business strategy and a work management discipline, PPM involves process creation, user adoption and organizational change management. IT PPM is about changing work behaviors at multiple levels within (and sometimes outside of) the IT department. Low PPM maturity is another obstacle, as well as the high cost and risk of implementing a prominent on-premises PPM system."  It is for this reason that WorkEngine and the EPK Suite will unite to form a robust, all-encompassing technology solution that will be the one size fits all remedy for large and small organizations across the globe.  WorkEngine will expand typical PPM to accommodate all levels of user maturity, all processes and all work.

The EPK Suite acquisition and the product integration development already underway, will add an array of enhancements to WorkEngine and Microsoft SharePoint that will help address customers' needs by offering a deeper level of portfolio work management, and highly functional resource management and cost management capabilities.   WorkEngine, as it stands today, is a complete end-to-end  SharePoint Project and Work Management application; by combining the technologies, WorkEngine will not only be an award-winning application for its ability to execute on projects but will also offer excellence in its ability to promote better decision making and funding for all types of projects and operational work.

"We are pleased to welcome the EPK Group to our team and are excited about all future opportunities that will undoubtedly arise by combining two of the leading providers in the Project and Work Management space,"  said Joe Larscheid, CEO of EPM Live.

WorkEngine will continue to provide cutting-edge, cost effective project and work management solutions built on the Microsoft SharePoint platform.  WorkEngine solutions support the entire work and project management lifecycle and provide the necessary efficiencies and indicators for companies to improve their ROI, streamline their business processes and make critical business decisions.   WorkEngine offers its clients solutions that possess the flexibility and scalability to meet specific industry and methodology needs.   These innovative solutions include capabilities such as Portfolio Management, Project Management, Cost Management, Time Management, Resource Management, Service Management, Agile Management, Business Intelligence and Collaboration.  These capabilities are all designed to work together or separately to meet any business specific need.
